Alternate DNS servers defined in /etc/resolv.conf not used.

Issue

• We has a issue with DNS on the primary DNS server. Server was pingable but did not resolve requests. However secondary DNS server was fine. While windows hosts were able to resolve using the secondary DNS server Linux processes just hung causing an outage. Need to understand why it did not fail over to secondary DNS server.
