Cannot toggle NIC features using ethtool with vmxnet3 NICs in RHEL6.2
Issue
- VMware recommends in certain circumstances to disable LRO: Poor TCP performance might occur in Linux virtual machines with LRO enabled (1027511)

However, on RHEL6.2 you cannot toggle the LRO flag using the normal
ethtoolmethod:# ethtool -K eth0 lro off Cannot set large receive offload settings: Operation not supported
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 or later. RHEL6.1 and earlier are not affected.
- A VMware-based virtual machine running RHEL6.2 and using the
vmxnet3driver.
