Broadcom cards fails to initialize with the error 'ethX: Something bad had happen! Aii'.

Issue

  • Broadcom cards produces error  'ethX Something bad had happen! Aii'. and fails to initialize.

  • dmesg logs the following while initializing:

    bnx2x 0000:21:00.0: eth0: Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM57710 XGb (A1) PCI-E x8 2.5GHz found at mem d7800000, IRQ 225, node addr 00:10:18:30:fd:08
    eth0: Something bad had happen! Aii!
    eth0: Recovery flow hasn't been properly completed yet. Try again later. If u still see this message after a few retries then power cycle is required.
