1. はじめに
Red Hat Satellite 5 はライフサイクル管理ツールで、大量のシステムをデプロイ、管理、監視する機能があります。Satellite 5 は接続、分離いずれかのモードで設定可能で、後者の場合は、オリジナルのプール型サブスクリプションアプローチを使用して Red Hat ソフトウェアがクライアントシステムに配布されます。プール型サブスクリプションの概念は、クライアントが Red Hat Network Classic からエンタイトルメントを使用する方法と同様のものです。
1.1. 本リリースについて
Red Hat Satellite 5 のこのリリースは Spacewalk 2.4 リリースに基づき、Spacewalk 2.6 リリースまでのすべての利点を含みます。Spacewalk 2.6 リリースの最新情報については、Spacewalk Wiki を参照してください。
本書では、Red Hat Satellite に固有な変更点のみを紹介します。Spacewalk 2.6 リリース自体のリリースノートは以下の場所にあります。

3. 新機能および改良された機能
本項では、Red Hat Satellite 5 のこのリリースの主要な新機能について簡単に説明します。
3.1. コンテンツ配信ネットワークサポート
以前は、Red Hat Satellite 5 はコンテンツの一般的な管理と同期のために Red Hat Network (RHN) に接続されていました。このリリースでは、Red Hat Satellite 5 は Red Hat Network (RHN は 2017 年に終了予定) を引き継ぐ Red Hat カスタマーポータルおよびコンテンツ配信ネットワーク (CDN) と通信するようになりました。また、Red Hat Satellite 5 は CDN からのコンテンツのみを同期し、RHN からのコンテンツは同期されません。
注記
このリリースでは、2 つ以上の Satellite Server をお互いに同期する場合に、2 つの同期メカニズム (Red Hat との同期には
cdn-sync、ダンプからの他の Satellite Server との同期には satellite-sync) が使用されます。
3.2. 証明書の生成
このリリースでは、Red Hat Satellite マニフェストを生成し、Satellite Server をアクティベートする新しいプロセスが導入されました。また、rhn-satellite-activate スクリプトでカスタマーポータルからマニフェストを更新およびダウンロードできるようツールが変更されました。これらの拡張機能は RHN からの移行の一部として含まれます。
3.3. TaskoTop
このリリースでは、新しいコマンドラインツール
taskotop を使用して "behind the scenes" タスク管理デーモン Taskomatic の状態を監視できるようになりました。名前が示すように、このツールのユーティリティーは Linux ユーティリティー top に似ており、Taskomatic デーモンの状態を確認できます。
3.4. 更新されたバックエンドテクノロジー
このリリースには、以下のサポートインターフェースと基礎となるテクノロジーの更新が含まれます。

3.5. 完全にローカライズされた Web ユーザーインターフェース
このリリースでは、残りのすべての PXT ページが Java で書き換えられました。この拡張により以下の主要な利点が提供されます。
