Fixed IP Address Issue on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
Dear Red Hat Community,
I’m encountering an issue with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 that is very frustrating. A few days ago, in my homelab, I accidentally unplugged the network switch. When I reconnected it, my RHEL 9 home server stopped working. After some investigation, I discovered that the server automatically changes its fixed IP address to automatic when it loses the network connection. I had to manually reconfigure the server's fixed IP address to restore functionality.
How can I prevent this from happening so the server retains its fixed IP address, even if the network link is temporarily lost? I'm concerned about deploying a server in a production environment and running into the same issue.
Best,
