First RHEL 9.4 installation -- cannot secure ssh
This is my first RHEL installation (I have older CentOS experience). I used my cloud provider and built from a downloaded Red Hat ISO and installed as a server. The system is accessible via SSH, but EVERYONE can get there. I have secured SSH as best I can (and locked out root), but I really would like the firewall to be in place. I verified that firewalld was running.
I changed default zone to DROP and in DROP, I added my IP address to sources and ssh to services. I set the interface to the only interface. I confirmed those choices are in the firewalld zone called DROP.
I have restarted firewalld and rebooted the system.
But ssh is still wide open. I used the manual to ensure I kept the runtime and permanent configuration straight.
Yes, this is a very new person question, but what did I miss on my wall to configuring firewalld.
