Control Group in RHEL 9

Posted on

Hi Team,

Generally in Couchbase DB deployment we are disabling the swapiness by setting "vm.swapiness=0" in /etc/sysctl.conf file. But in one of Couchbase article it shows due to some know issue in RHEL 8.8, need set "vm.force_cgroup_v2_swappiness " to 1.

So my question is how these two parameters are different and I did not see any entry for vm.force_cgroup_v2_swappiness in "/etc/sysctl.conf" file in RHEL 9.

Below is the article which we got from Couchbase.

https://support.couchbase.com/hc/en-us/articles/25574454649243-Optimizing-Swappiness-for-Couchbase-Server-on-Linux-Systems

Could you please help me to understand.

Thanks,
Debasis
