Linux server migration from RHEL 5.11 core IT environment to RHEL 8.9 AWS cloud environment

Will there be any change in the DB utilities and libraries used inside shell scripts when we are migrating from RHEL 5.11 core IT environment to RHEL 8.9 version AWS cloud environment? sqlplus DB utility is being used in our shell scripts. Which functions, commands and libraries work in RHEL 5.11 version but do not work in higher version like RHEL 8.7 or RHEL 8.9? Is there any changes to the commands, functions or libraries when migrating to higher version like RHEL 8.7 or 8.9?
