Configuring mod_jk

HI all

 

I am trying to configure mod_jk with my newly installed jboss-ewp-5.1.2 using the native components which ship with this release on the download page.I have copied the mod_jk.so to my apache's modules directory when i try to start apache i am getting the following error:

 

httpd: Syntax error on line 200 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/mod_jk.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/mod_jk.so: undefined symbol: ap_get_server_description
 

My environment details are as follows:

apache 2.2.3

Redhat linux enterprise 5

Jdk 1.6

Hi

 

I think you are seeing the problem described in the Knowledge base Article here [1]. Currently, the native components available for download from the Customer Portal only support RHEL + EWS. Ensure you are using httpd from EWS and not from RHEL.

Thanks for your prompt response, to purchase EWS is not in my scope, so the only option left is to build mod_jk from source, but i donot have apx or apxs on my RHEL 5, how can i install apx or apxs
