Dovecot + squirrelmail issue

Latest response

Hi group,

I am experiencing a strange issue.

With linux users that where on the server before I configured dovecot imap and squirrelmail I can log into webmail without any issues.

But if I add a new user I get following errors, and I do not know where to look for the cause

Nov 10 22:15:28 intel dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=<mindtree>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, mpid=15421, secured
Nov 10 22:15:28 intel dovecot: imap(mindtree): Error: user mindtree: Initialization failed: mail_location not set and autodetection failed: Mail storage autodetection failed with home=/home/mindtree
Nov 10 22:15:28 intel dovecot: imap(mindtree): Error: Invalid user settings. Refer to server log for more information.

What server log is meaned?

Or has anyone experienced this and found a fix.

Kind regards,

Hi Thomas,

Thanks, this was the right link.

The ones I found all wanted to use a MAILDIR instead of a INBOX directive and failed.

INBOX solved the issue for new users and kept the old users working.

Thanks again,
