How do I configure the bonding device on Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

Here is the steps you can follow.

1. chkconfig NetworkManager off
2. echo "alias bond0 bonding" >> /etc/modprobe.d/bonding.conf
3. vim /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0
DEVICE=bond0
IPADDR=10.16.143.151
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=10.16.143.254
USERCTL=no
BOOTPROTO=static
ONBOOT=yes
BONDING_OPTS="mode=0 miimon=100"
4. vim /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
HWADDR=00:17:A4:77:24:3C
ONBOOT=yes
MASTER=bond0
SLAVE=yes
USERCTL=no
5. vim /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1
DEVICE=eth1
BOOTPROTO=static
HWADDR=00:17:A4:77:24:3E
ONBOOT=yes
MASTER=bond0
SLAVE=yes
USERCTL=no
6. service network restart
7. cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0
Note. Here I used eth0 and eth1, You can change it according to your need.
