Certified hardware vendors accept 'sosreport' with tickets

Ok this isnt as much about RHEL7 as about Hardware certification.

But anyway, submitting tickets to certified hardware vendors is painful as they often require us to run something similar to 'sosreport' - usually it does exactly what sosreport does - but not sosreport. (not mentioning names, but you know... common hardware vendors)

So we find ourselves having to install a second lot of software to provide the exact same details to the vendor. Often this involves a 600meg+ installation for just one little command.

sosreport is simple enough, its just a tarball with vital system data in it.

I would like to see Redhat work with these certified vendors so that they will accept sosreport as a valid system details bundle.

This makes life vastly easier when we are opening bi-lateral tickets (ie one with redhat, one with xyz hardware vendor) - and more so when N multiple hardware vendors are involved, requiring N more sosreport like tools to be installed and run.

There is nothing more frustrating than submitting support tickets, waiting, then being told to go back and run another system data gathering tool.
