Dynamic recipient list for Tower email notifications

Hello,

Is it possible to have a dynamic recipient list for Tower email notifications?
For example, we would like to use the email notifications to send an email to the person who launches the job.
We tried setting the recipient to the tower_user_email variable but this didn't work.
