Debian container running on RHEL 8

Hi.

I am a container newbie and I have been hearing many different opinions on how to run containers.

My question is this: Does it matter on what image my container is built?

For example, will a Debian based container run smoothly on a RHEL 8 system?

To me it makes the most sense to run containers according to their underlying host.

If someone is persistent on running alpine/debian/other based container on my RHEL system, should it be a direct no or can I run these containers with out worrying about conflict ?
