rhel upgrade

hi,
what is the best practice in order to keep settings when upgrade from rhel 7 to rhel 8?

  • in place upgrade
    https://access.redhat.com/documentat...o_rhel_8/index

  • backup rhel 7 then install from dvd rhel 8 then copy back from backup the config files
