AD account not getting sudo rights

This server is connected to AD. I have a local account called smod_discoverysvc_ux. There is also a AD account with the same name. The local account is already disabled. We are trying to give sudo access to the domain account, therefore we have added the account to the wheel group. However the account is still not getting sudo rights.

What other configurations need to be done to give this domain id sudo access?
