Tower, Ansible and VMware

We will beginning an evaluation of Tower.

We are looking for anyone who may be willing to provide advice and information on playbooks that deploy VMs in vCenter 6.x.

Some general questions would be:

  1. Do we need to have the virtual networking setup in vCenter prior to playbooks being executed or can a playbook be written to set up the vSwitch, Portgroups, VLANS, etc in vCenter.

    1. Any unforeseen issue like performance problems when deploying VMs

  2. Any base playbooks that are already developed to deploy VMs that can be downloaded and tweaked as necessary.
