403::Unknown Client connecting to Salesforce Streaming API

We are using RH Fuse 6.3's SF Camel component to connect to SFDC's Streaming API to notify record changes. We are facing 403 error for quite sometime, did follow some advice on several blogs and videos. These are not helping much. We have configured the camel route for streaming properly. The question is - do we need to handshake before subscribing to push topic or Fuse handles it internally by abstracting this from developer? any KB article should help
