Performing backup/restore of PostgreSQL 9.6 SQL database server

Hi,

I am currently running my PostgreSQL using the Redhat container Image (https://access.redhat.com/containers/?tab=overview#/registry.access.redhat.com/rhscl/postgresql-96-rhel7).

However I did not find any best practice on how to perform backup/restore of the database. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to look etc?
