as the title say's , Ryzen 1600 - on kernel 3.10.0-862.9.1.el7.x86_64.
on start of the system i get not supported CPU, can i load the new kernel 4.17 form elrepo or do i make a frankstein Red Hat Linux this way ?

Hi David,

Well, this is not a trivial decision ... on one hand, if you want to use a newer kernel, you have no other chance and on the other hand, when you install the kernel from ELRepo, you are on your own (you'll have to fix every related problem yourself), because that is not supported by Red Hat.

Ok,

System is stable, with thé Red hat kernel 3.10 i beter staat on this no need to do this.

Good decision David, I would have done the same ... by the way, important bug and security fixes are back ported. :)
