Microsoft fonts, specifically Arial Font

Latest response

I run a isolated, stand-alone RHEL 7.4 network with no outside connection to the world. I'm trying to install MS fonts, as stated in the title, but the only package I can find is the msttcorefonts2 noarch rpm to use. The only problem with that is, when I do a yum install, it is still designed to reach out on the internet and download each font cab package. I can't put this network on the Internet. Is there anyway to install Arial font on the network.

Hi Rich,

The only option I can see in your case, would be to download the cab files via the msttcorefonts2 package by using the machine
of a friend, then extract them and copy the fonts to an USB drive and then install/paste them manually to your offline system. :)

Christian

Another way could be to get the Arial TTF files from your Windows system (and you do have one, as per the license of msttcorefonts you must have a Windows license to use the fonts) and put it in ~/.fonts then update the font cache.
