Save link fail, save image success

Latest response

Hi, I have encountered a issue recently:
A folder doesn't have write permission for some special users, I accessed this redhat machine using this user, I opened Firefox, then saved link and saved image to this folder separately.
However, saving image succeeded, saving link failed.
I wonder if Redhat would do different operations while user save different content to the folder if user doesn't have write permission.
The error info is as blow.

Hi Yuan,

Is it possible that SELinux prevents saving the link ?

SELinux is preventing Chrome_ChildThr from read access on the file /...

Executing the following command might solve this :

sudo setsebool -P unconfined_mozilla_plugin_transition 0

Thanks Christian, I checked my configuration, SELinux had been disabled already.

Hi Yuan,

Not a good idea to disable SELinux ... better re-enable it and adjust single things the way I told you. :)

Hi Christian, I changed SELinux value to 'Enforcing' and tried again. Unfortunately, it still failed to save link to the folder.

Hi Yuan,

Good that you've re-enabled SELinux now - this makes your system much safer.
Unfortunately I have no other idea what prevents the ability to save the link ... :)
