Virtual Page Size
Hello everyone. Please forgive my ignorance as I am a noob when it comes to lower levels of linux.
I am trying to run a large application on IBM PPC64 machines and I believe that the default virtual memory page size is 64K for RHEL 7.x.
Due to legacy purposes, I need a page size of 4K.
Since I need a page size of 4K, how can I accomplish this?
Does RedHat provide a prebuilt package with 4K page size that I can just download and use? Or do I need to recompile the RHEL OS with the correct parameters? If so, can someone point me to a place that has information where I can get this done?
If I am able to get RHEL working with a 4K page size, is there a chance that applications and such will not work or have all sorts of unforseen problems running on RHEL? Are there any cons that might befall me?
Thanks

The default page size is 64k on RHEL PPC, on x86_64 and i686, it's 4k. From memory, this page size change for PPC was implemented in RHEL 5.
I don't really like your options in attempting to bring PPC down to 4k.. I would definitely expect this to fall outside a supported configuration if you did configure it.
This kind of question is definitely worth raising with Red Hat through formal support.
