  • Error installing RHV-M appliance on RHV-H with BOND and VLAN

    Posted on

    Hello,

I just started this discussion to note an issue i have on a recent installation on RHV.
    My setup:
    1 x RHV-H 4.0 (EL7.3)
    1 x rhevm-appliance-20161214.0-1.x86_64.rhevm.ova
    2 x 10 Gbps NIC on Bonding
Management Network on tagged VLAN ID 444

During the install of RHV-H we created the bond with the name "bond0" , also created the tagged nic with VLAN ID 444 and name "vlan_444".
We puth the IP 10.X.Y.Z on it.

We setup all the requerimients and started the rhevm deploy using the cockpit's interface.

Long story short, this setup will fail allways if we select "vlan_444" as the nic for the ovirtmgmt bridge.
What we have found is that the deployer finds the interface, detect that is a bridge with a tagged VLAN, and try to configure the ovirtmgmt bridge on the nic "bond0.444" , no matter which name you put before in the cockpit's page

The Workaround we find was to change "vlan_444" to "bond0.444" and the installer works.

Hope it helps someone in the future.

    Regards
    Pablo.
