Work Manager Issue

We have implemented custom work manager in jboss EAP 6.4.7 and it seems the work manager is behaving weirdly where instead of closing down the connection after waiting stipulated amount of time, it gets hung and thread becomes unusable until restarted. Has anyone faced something similar, I can provide more details to investigate as needed.
