RHEL 5 install hanging on AHCI driver

Latest response

Hello,

I am attempting to create a RHEL 5 VM utilizing the iso images I downloaded from Linux. When I specify the Disk 1 iso for the CD drive and click Install to begin the process, the RHEL 5 installation hangs on "Loading AHCI driver." during the setup process. Im not sure if there is something I need to change in the RHEL 5 software settings, the VM hardware settings, or the VMware 12 settings.

Any help to be able to move forward would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Any response to this query as I am stuck just after the loading AHCI driver page where we need to select the language. It seems the USB is not providing the input to the OS.

Any resolution to my problem is appreciated.

The AHCI mode is not supported in EL5 and is not expected to work:
