Local kickstart on redhat 7

Latest response

Hi,

I used to automatically deploy new VMware virtual machines by loading the ISO of RedHat on a virtual DVD drive and by loading the ISO of a kickstart file on a virtual floppy drive. This allows me to customize each kickstart ISO with the IP of the VM so, once deployed, it's reachable via the network and easily configurable.

I am now trying to migrate my kickstart automation on to RedHat 7 and am not sure if the same is still possible or if there is any equivalent approach I can do.

Is it still possible to mount a floppy drive on to the VM so that I can add something equivalent to "ks=floppy", which is the parameter I could enter in a rhel6 installation?

Thanks.
Thierry.
