Why does my Intel DQ35JO motherboard-based system panic on firstboot after installing 32-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1?

Updated -

Release Found: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1

The Intel DQ35JO motherboard is certified to run 32-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 with 2GB of RAM or less. A problem in the i810 video driver can cause the X server to panic on exit when more than 2GB of RAM is installed and the Xen kernel is in use. This problem does not affect 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1. A fix for this issue has been delivered in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3, so users wishing to use a 32-bit version of the operating system and more than 2GB of RAM should use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 or newer.
