Between Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.1 to 4.5, OpenShift SDN had the userspace components of Open vSwitch (OVS) running inside a DaemonSet called ovs in the openshift-sdn pod. Starting with OpenShift 4.6, OVS now runs directly on the host as a systemd service.
