Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 is the second full release of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux family, following on from the highly successful Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 line. The family is unchanged, and still has AS, ES and WS variants. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 includes over 100 new major features and approximately 350 general enhancements in comparison to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 product. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 provides some binary compatibility when migrating from a 2.1 system, however, there is no guarantee.
