Disruptions in Red Hat errata advisory email notifications

Updated -

Issue One: Missing errata email advisories

Between mid-December 2018 and February 14, 2019, due to a change to email services Red Hat did not send out all advisory emails for applicable errata for Red Hat subscription holders. When this issue was discovered the underlying problem was addressed and all advisory emails since February 14 were delivered as expected.

To ensure this does not happen again, Red Hat will be decoupling the errata email services from other email services and improving its monitoring capabilities.

Starting on Monday February 25th, 2019 Red Hat plans to send the 370 email advisories to customers that were blocked. New advisories during this time will take priority, and as they are successfully processed , the older advisories will resume sending.

Customers with settings to receive advisories based upon their system profiles will only receive the notices based upon their current system profile.

Be aware that you may see duplicate emails during this time, and you may have already patched your systems for the advisories being sent.

Issue Two: Old JBoss advisories are being sent

On Wednesday February 20th, 2019 in an effort to make older errata information visible from the Red Hat Customer portal, a large number of JBoss text only errata were processed. This had the unintentional effect of sending out JBoss advisory email for these older errata.

Red Hat sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience these issues may have caused.
