Why does the mouse and/or keyboard input stop working after a period of time when using remote desktop?

When using remote desktop (rdesktop) for a period of time, rdesktop will grab the mouse and key focus. To release keygrab use Ctrl+Alt+Divide (from num pad). To disable this keygrab, add the below to /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
