Is there a tool for checking HDD RPM speed?

Hard disk speed is measured in Revolutions Per Minute (RPM). There is no direct way to find this measurement using software. However, you can find out the model number using hdparm command and then verify this again the manufacturer's specifications which is usually available within their manual.
