System reboot command can cause systems to hang when SCSI-3 Persistent Reservations are used with ISCSI targets.

When a reboot command is issued on a system that is connected to a NetApp target through iSCSI software initiator and where persistent reservations are used, it may become unresponsive and will need to be forcefully shut down.

  • RHEL6.3 and older
  • SCSI-3 Persistent Reservation environments
  • Multiple storage arrays
