[RHEV 3] RHEV-H fails to boot on UEFI supported hardware.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) v6.2
- Hardware with UEFI support
Issue
- RHEV hypervisor is not booting after installation on ibm x3550 server using UEFI from the local hard drive. Initial install succeed, upon reboot server reported "No operating system found" on the hard drive. Tried to reinstall RHEV-H again from the CD-ROM and it shows already installed.
Resolution
- Booting mode in BIOS needs to be set to legacy boot mode.
-
To install the operating system in legacy Mode,
- Boot to F1 menu options.
- Select Start Options and Legacy Only.
- After inserting the Install DVD in the drive, press a key once you see the prompt to 'Press any key to boot from DVD.'
- Once the install completes, the operating system will now be installed in 'Legacy Mode.'
