Cloud Credential Operator becomes degraded on GCP when APIs are not enabled

Issue

  • The Cloud Credential Operator becomes degraded reporting Detected required APIs that are disabled: [networksecurity.googleapis.com].
  • The detected API listed in the warning may differ, depending on which API is disabled.
  • For example: The following warnings may be shown in the Cloud Credential Operator:

    level=warning msg="Detected required APIs that are disabled: [networksecurity.googleapis.com]" actuator=gcp cr=openshift-cloud-credential-operator/openshift-machine-api-gcp
    
    level=warning msg="Detected required APIs that are disabled: [firebase.googleapis.com]" actuator=gcp cr=openshift-cloud-credential-operator/openshift-image-registry-gcs
    
    level=warning msg="Detected required APIs that are disabled: [certificatemanager.googleapis.com]" actuator=gcp cr=openshift-cloud-credential-operator/openshift-machine-api-gcp
    

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) and Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated (OSD) prior to versions:
    • 4.9.8
    • 4.8.21
    • 4.7.38
    • 4.6.51
  • Only clusters on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This does not affect other cloud providers or bare metal.
