Why do I see multipath errors calling out path prioritizers when /tmp is mounted with nodev option on RHEL5 ?
Issue
- When running
multipath -ll
, these error messages are shown, but read/write to the multipath device is OK:
# multipath -ll /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular exitted with 1 error calling out /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular 8:48 /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular exitted with 1 error calling out /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular 8:112 /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular exitted with 1 error calling out /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular 8:80 /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular exitted with 1 error calling out /sbin/mpath_prio_hds_modular 8:144 mpath2 (1HITACHI_770135270187) dm-5 HITACHI,DF600F [size=30G][features=0][hwhandler=0][rw] \_ round-robin 0 [prio=-2][active] \_ 5:0:0:1 sdd 8:48 [active][ready] \_ 6:0:0:1 sdh 8:112 [active][ready] \_ round-robin 0 [prio=-2][enabled] \_ 5:0:1:1 sdf 8:80 [active][ready] \_ 6:0:1:1 sdj 8:144 [active][ready]
