How to modify the default TTL of a multicast packets in RHEL?
Issue
- We use Multicast with java applications and the system tags our multicasts packets with a ttl=1 which cause the packet to be dropped by the next hop device.
- Is it possible to change the
TTL
values of outgoing multicast packets with any system parameter (like sysctl)? - Is it possible to change the
TTL
of outgoing multicast packets usingiptables
?
Environment

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.
