Why does the LUN assigned from EMC Clariion that is detected as "LUNZ" show "READ CAPACITY failed." messages ?

Issue

• Why is the LUN assigned from EMC Clariion detected as "LUNZ" and showing "READ CAPACITY failed" message?
• What is a LUNZ device and why do commands like fdisk and parted fail when used on a LUNZ device?

• How do I use a LUNZ device for a filesystem?

• In the logs, we see messages like this.
