Error detaching volume when using the Cinder API

Issue

  • Requests to detach a Cinder volume from a VM, using the Cinder API, fail with the following error:

    2023-10-10 09:36:29.739 11 ERROR cinder.volume.api [req-92866495-4773-4224-be67-a67533c32ad6 e0e5561752c34312822b0144b2b69197 1ad906971a3a405f9c9d9b522a72365a - default default] Detected user call to delete in-use attachment. Call must come from the nova service and nova must be configured to send the service token. Bug #2004555
