How to change image registry for openshift-monitoring grafana pod from default to an internal?

Issue

• When Red Hat openShift Container Platform cluster was installed, the external Red Hat Registry i.e. registry.redhat.io was used, at the end of the installation it was decided to remove access to the external registry registry.redhat.io and to use an internal registry registry.example.com.
• To make it into effect, how to modify the configuration of the openshift-monitoring project so that the grafana pod takes the image of the internal registry registry.example.com?
• The following steps were already carried out which re-initiates the pod back from registry.redhat.io, even though the registry is changed by editing deployment.

# oc project openshift-monitoring
# oc get deployment
# oc edit deployment grafana
# oc edit deployment grafana -oyaml
