IBM Blades HS21 XM system panics while booting virt-p2v ISO.

Issue

  • For migrating a physical machine to virual, It first need to booted from virt-p2v iso/dvd. virt-p2v iso burned in to dvd and performed several migration of physical servers, but when the 'IBM Blades HS21 XM' system booted with the same dvd (virt-p2v), it got kernel panic similar to below:

  • Unable to boot 'IBM Blades HS21 XM system' using virt-v2v iso/dvd for migrating it to virtual.

Environment

  • virt-p2v iso as client.
  • virt-v2v as a conversion server.
