Solution In Progress - Updated -

Environment

  • RHEL 6.4

Issue

  • What is the maximum network bandwidth used for live migration of KVM guests in RHEL 6.4?

Resolution

  • In RHEL 6.4,the maximum available bandwidth is used for live migration of KVM guests. This default migration bandwidth can still be overridden with a value assigned through 'virsh migrate-setspeed',but there is currently no way to set the changed migrate-setspeed persistent on a per VM basis or system-wide.
  • In the older releases prior to RHEL 6.4,the default maximum migration bandwidth is 32Mb/s.
