Issue

To take a bond of infiniband interfaces into service we execute service network restart, this results in this error:

Shutting down interface bond0: [ OK ]
Shutting down loopback interface: [ OK ]
Bringing up loopback interface: [ OK ]
Bringing up interface bond0: [ OK ]
Bringing up interface bond1: SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument
                                                           [ OK ]

When bringing up the interfaces bevore executing the network restart then the error message does not appear:

# ifup bond1
# ifup ib0
# ifup ib1
# ifdown bond1
# ifup bond1
# /etc/init.d/network restart
                      [ OK ]
