Using broadcast is fully supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 4 and RHEL 5.4+, but is only a Technology Preview on RHEL 6.
Red Hat Cluster Suite 4.x used broadcast by default, although it can be configured to use multicast rather than broadcast. In RHEL 5 and RHEL 6 the default is multicast.
