Execution environment: when to use ee-supported-rhel8 vs ee-supported-rhel9

Posted on

Hello,

I'm on Ansible Automation Platform 2.4-7 and need to create my own execution environment because I need some additional collections which are not built into registry.redhat.io/ansible-automation-platform-24/ee-supported-rhel8:latest.

What I would like to know: when do I start with ee-supported-rhel8 and when do I start with ee-supported-rhel9?

I understand that they are built with packages from RHEL 8 vs. RHEL 9. Is it just that or are there other conditions I need to consider?

Also under the Red Hat Ecosystem catalog: what does it mean when a container is marked with a dark green "A", light green "B" or an orange "C"?

Regards,
Robert
