Red Hat Customer Portal: What's New on June 10, 2014

Updated -

Note: Red Hat Network (RHN) is in the process of being decommissioned. Please migrate to Red Hat Subscription Management as soon as possible.

We're pleased to announce the following enhancements to our Customer Portal included with our updates published on June 10, 2014. These features, along with numerous bug fixes and minor enhancements, are now available to all users.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7

To support the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and to provide the best customer experience to date, the Customer Portal team has overhauled the Red Hat Enterprise Linux product page. Here are some of the changes:

  • Two new ways to download a product: a download section on the product page and a revamped Customer Portal downloads area
  • A refined getting started guide, using icons to help prep and set expectations for a basic deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Curated content for user tasks to help customers accomplish their most important tasks
  • A redesigned look and feel to the docs, including removal of the html-single and epub format

Errata

This release also brings with it a new Errata content type, providing you the ability to easily search through errata related to a specific product. We are currently providing Red Hat Enterprise Linux errata via the Red Hat Enterprise Linux product page, but you should soon start to see errata feeds on other product pages.

Additional Customer Portal Release Enhancements

In addition to the major updates described above, this release introduces:

  • The ability to add multiple users to a group at the same time.
  • Updated breadcrumbs for adding/editing group discussions so that you can see which group you're in.

Red Hat Network (RHN) Updates

Resolutions for a few Red Hat Network bugs were released to production on 5/22:

  • Implement X-Frame-Options for all pages under rhn.redhat.com
  • After executing a package search, the search results URL should be able to be reused to execute the same search
  • Unable to download kickstart files
