New features and highlights for Red Hat Insights in June and July 2022

Updated -

Red Hat Insights is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application included with almost every subscription to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Powered by predictive analytics, Red Hat Insights gets smarter with every additional piece of intelligence and data. It can automatically discover relevant insights, recommend tailored, proactive, next actions, and even automate tasks.

Learn more about these new and enhanced features that were added to Red Hat Insights services during June and July 2022:

  • Advisor: Insights advisor now displays Satellite-managed systems by default. To find out more about managing user access to Red Hat Insights services, consult the User Access Configuration Guide for Role-based Access Control.

  • Compliance: The compliance service now supports more granular permissions using the pre-configured user access roles: a Compliance Admin role and a Compliance read-only (viewer) role. The new Compliance viewer role is assigned to the default access group. The Compliance administrator role is assigned to default admin access group.

  • The compliance service also supports alerts and notifications so that you can subscribe to events that may require immediate attention.

  • Vulnerability: The vulnerability service supports similarly granular permissions, adding these roles: vulnerability administrator and vulnerability viewer.

  • Remote Host Configuration (rhc): Use rhc client for single-step registration. You can register systems to both Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) and Insights for RHEL using the # rhc connect command.

  • Notifications: When you are setting up notifications, you will see a new wizard for creating and editing notifications behavior groups. The wizard provides additional functionality, such as associating multiple events to a behavior group, including selecting all events.

  • Integrations: A service preview of the Red Hat Insights application for Splunk is now available in the Splunkbase marketplace. This new feature facilitates ingestion and visualization of Insights events in Splunk.

  • Resource Optimization: The resource optmization service executive report, available as a PDF, provides executive decision makers with a summary of the status of their RHEL infrastructure, including system performance and the most common issues on non-optimized systems.
