Red Hat Subscription Asset Manager Life Cycle and Support Policy

Overview

Red Hat has established fixed life cycles for the Red Hat Subscription Asset Manager (SAM) that will allow customers and partners to plan their resources, certifications, and implementations accordingly.

Details

Subscription Asset Manager is a feature of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, SAM ended its Maintenance Support 2 phase and is now EOL.

Maintenance Support 2

During the Maintenance Support 2 Phase, Critical impact Security Advisories (RHSAs) and selected Urgent Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs) may be released as they become available. Other errata advisories may be delivered as appropriate. New functionality and new hardware enablement are not planned for availability in the Maintenance Support 2 Phase.

End Of Life (EOL)

After October 31st, 2018, Red Hat will discontinue technical support services as well as software maintenance services for standalone Subscription Asset Manager (SAM). This means that bug fixes, security errata, and product enhancements will no longer be provided.

Notes:

  1. This does not include SAM + Satellite 5.6 and 5.7 environments. This scenario will not EOL until January 31, 2019 following the Red Hat Satellite Lifecycle.
  2. Subscription Asset Manager consumers have two paths going forward to continue to be supported. Red Hat recommends either moving clients to Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) or migrating to Red Hat Satellite 6.
