How do I delete unwanted kickstart trees from a Satellite server?

Issue

A Satellite server has kickstart trees from deleted channels or channels no longer synced. For example: You have several kickstart trees existing from channels that have been deleted and no longer sync. Present in /var/satellite/rhn/kickstart, are the kickstart trees for RHEL3 (see below). The server no longer has these channels (deleted from satellite). Can these directories simply be removed, or do additional steps need to be done on the database first?
